You’re in a hurry and don’t have enough time to put a full face of makeup on, so you skip the primer and setting spray. But then your makeup is coming off halfway through the day, especially as the weather becomes hotter. I get it, girl! When I have to go somewhere and look put together, I just want to put on the bare minimum and call it a day. If you want your makeup to last all day, these are the steps and products I recommend!
Skin Prep
Having your skin prepped is essential. I like to use a primer/moisturizer. It’s not as thick as a primer, but it still does its job. Even if you have oily skin you must be putting on a moisturizer/primer. Make sure that it’s for your specific skin type also!
A few of my fav moisturizers/primers:
- Laura Mercier Hydrating Primer for dry skin
- Becca Ever Matte Primer for oily skin (if you have super oily skin this will save your life)
- Too Faced Hangover Primer for all skin types
Foundation
Having the right foundation for your skin type is essential!! If your skin type and your foundation doesn’t add up together, your foundation will crack and not last. To find out what foundation is right for your specific skin type click here!
Setting your Face
Powder is important. But not too much. NO BAKING. Just put a very light layer and it will make a world of a difference. If you put too much powder on your skin, it will look cakey and can crack because there is no moisture anymore. A little really goes a long way!
Setting Spray
I wrote a whole blog post about setting sprays, but they really help if you have the right kind! This makes your skin look more like skin and also makes your makeup literally last hours and hours! To go read about my favorites click here!
