I have a confession.. I caved.. Call me basic.. I finally took the Enneagram to find out my personality type. This detailed test assesses you as one of the 9 types. Each type has different personality traits, strengths, weaknesses, and IT’S SUPER CRAZY ACCURATE. I have taken a TON of personality tests and they were okay.. not super inspiring, but I have found that the Enneagram test enlightened me about my business, my relationships, my friendships, and my personal growth.
A ton of people were talking about it saying how it described them to a T. I of course didn’t believe them, so I brushed it off. Then I heard a few more people refer to themselves as a number and I got confused. I didn’t know what it meant. I asked them and they said it was their Enneagram type. So I just had to take it out of pure curiosity. I’m honestly so glad I did. I loved what I found out about myself so much that I made Steven take it too!
My Enneagram Type
I found out I’m a type 3, which is also known as “The Achiever”. Honestly, I wasn’t surprised at all.
Type 3’s are success-focused, impressive, driven, adaptive, and ambitious. That definitely fits me to a T!! I’m always working towards my goals in my business and even in how I want my life to be. I expect a lot from myself; I try so hard to please not only my family, but myself.
I’m always working hard and I always have these crazy dreams that are so far fetched! I want to inspire others and be their shoulder to cry on. I love giving advice and helping people answer their questions on anything. Also I LOVE winning. The Enneagram told me I value my happiness over others, I’m more external than internal, and I have very high standards. I also love expensive things and I constantly worry about what other people think of me. UMMM hello? What?!?! This is sooooo me!!!
My Weaknesses
I love this test because it tells me my weaknesses and of course it was a hard pill to swallow, but it was great to reflect and adjust so I can be better. A few of my weaknesses are.. I can be envious of other people being successful and very comparing. I also love to be the center of attention.. Big ouch. I expect a lot from myself and I can put myself down when things don’t go as planned.
Threes want to make sure their lives are a success, but this can be a bad thing. Success can be defined by sometimes the latest Instagram trend, followers, dollar signs, what people think of you. It can also be how full your books are. If my success is only focused on numbers and external situations, what would happen to me when numbers are down or if I’m having a bad week? This is the downfall of being a 3, but I don’t want my environment to define how successful I am. I am successful because of my dedication, drive, and perseverance, not just how full my schedule is or how much money I make.
What I learned is that I need to take a step back and just focus on me. I cannot compare my chapter 3 to someone else’s chapter 16. I try to be the one who listens rather than talk. Yes, it is something I still need to work on. But no one is perfect. Right? It was such an eye-opener to take this test and to understand how my mind works at a deeper level.
