I know the struggle boo. No matter what you do your foundation cracks under your eyes or maybe even on your forehead. Now I cannot do anything about wrinkles and if you have a few, I recommend Botox so your foundation will lay a bit better. But I am giving you two crucial tips to help with cracking. Because it really is the worst.
Having the right products
If you’re using an oil based primer and a water based foundation, that could be the reason that your foundation is cracking because well, water and oil don’t mix. So make sure you read your ingredients so the products that you’re using go well together. They also have to go well with your skin. If you’re oily and you have a water based foundation… okay you get the point. Just make sure they all work well together.
Put a little bit of setting powder on
No I do not mean that you should bake your face or put a pound of powder on. Just a very VERY light layer under your eyes and you should be good. Too much could dehydrate your skin and cause texture and cracking but adding just a thin layer or even colored pressed powder would be great! Also add it anywhere else you feel your foundation doesn’t last and you’ll see a difference!
Summary
Foundation cracking on your skin is annoying. If you have dry skin especially, you understand that the drier your skin is, the more likely this is to happen. There are ways to stop this! Making sure your products’ ingredients go well together and match your skin type is a good place to start. Another tip is using a slight amount of setting powder on the area where it normally cracks. Too much powder will make your foundation crack more! When in doubt, don’t go too heavy on the foundation or powder, and say goodbye to your foundation cracking!
